American Idol Hollywood Round Two on February 4, 2009, Summary of Episode 9
By Marcus Check out our extensive news articles on American Idol at AmericanIdolHeadlines.com American Idol Hollywood Round Two On February 4, 2009, Summary of Episode 9 By Marcus Tonight the remaining 107 contestants will again be judged. Some will be given the boot while others will remain. And to make it more challenging, tonight is “Group Rounds.” That is, they will form individual singing groups to be judged not only on vocal abilities, but style and stage presentation. It is a real test of personality and there will be clashes. Will the groups be harmonious? Or will they be acrimonious? Here are some highlights. “White Chocolate” group consisted of India Morrison, Matt Giraud, Kris Allen and Justine Williams with a polished solid performance of “Give Me One More Look.” While other groups were struggling with conflicts, dominance, and put downs, this group focused on the task and came out all winners as they all passed to the next round. “Action Squad” definitely needed more action when Alex Wagner-Trugman, Ryan Pinkston, Ann Marie Boskovich, and Emily Wynne struggled with “Don’t Stop.” Only Alex and Anne made the cut leaving Emily to pack up and go home. But it was departing Ryan blaming an “evil” Paula for his departure rather than his own lack of talent. Taking a huge risk, Danny Gokey, Jamar Rogers, and Taylor Vaifanua sang “Someone To Love” a’cappella and it paid off with winning a spot in the next round. Other standouts who made the cut included Michael Sarver, Adam Lambert, Matt Breitzke, and Jesse Langseth. The “Divas” had major problems with one particular member, that is Katrina Darrell who could not see anyone else but her own little self. The other members, Rose Flack, Lauren Barnes, and Jasmine Murray tried to overcome that difficulty singing “Release Me” but their performance suffered with only Jasmine making the cut. I like Rose and am sorry to see her leave so early. As to Katrina, it is time to wake up girl and start acting like a woman. Somehow the giggler whose giggle would sink a diving bell, Tatiana Del Toro made it through while David Osmond didn’t. The group “Compromised” never
compromised and it was so evident that they could not even slightly tolerate one
another on stage. They were Nathaniel
Marshall, Nancy Wilson, and Kristin
McNamara. Even Simon suggested that while one was singing the other two back up
singers were “sabotaging” that individual’s performance. So, that was the end with just 75 still remaining. Remember to return here next week for my recap written just for you.
