But before there was any announcement of the first casualty, the seven danced disco choreographed by none other than Paula Abdul herself! Then the lights were dimmed as Ryan called Lil Rounds to stage center. Lil’s performance last night of “Every Woman” was not just dull but it lacked professionalism. Her inability to leave a favorable impression resulted in her being the first to be sent home. We all had big hopes for Lil with her powerful voice, but somewhere on her Idol journey her self confidence stumbled and she never recovered. Next we took a little dancing break to a disco medley performed by Frieda Payne, Thelma Houston and KC of KC and the Sunshine Band. The lights again dimmed while Ryan announced that Kris Allen, Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey were all safe. Anoop Desai was then sent to the bottom three. That was no surprise as he has reached his zenith and has little room for further potential. Then Ryan announced that Matt Giraud was safe but not so with Allison Iraheta. That is wrong. Matt’s “Staying Alive” performance last night was shallow while Allison rocked the house with “Hot Stuff.” I don’t know if the voters are biased against her because of her talent and youth, or what is their problem. Because she is a true talent. But before we could find out who would be joining Lil in
the long ride back home, we listened to former Idol finalist David
Archuleta sing “Hold My Hand.” David is soon leaving on tour to the Now, back to the final chop. Ryan announced that it would Anoop joining Lil while Allison was safe. The double chop is done.
