American Idol Tryouts in Phoenix, Arizona on Jan 13, 2009 , Summary of Episode 1
By Marcus Click here to go to more American Idol News and go to AmericanIdolHeadlines.com American Idol Season 8 kicked off with a two-hour special spanning eight cities with hundreds of thousands of contestants who all covet the crown of being the American Idol. What continues to make this show such a hit? I think that Idol is the manifestation of the American Dream. It is the chance to become famous based upon individual innate ability to perform, sing, and sparkle. From the broiling hot temps in But then we had tangerine hair
Emily with her full sleeve tats. She has a full vocal range and easily grabbed a
ticket to Tearful wanna be rocker Randy came to the audition for confirmation. He didn’t get it. But some dude named JB with his rather dull voice made the cut. Maybe he is a friend of the friend of the producer’s dog walker? And fearful Michael was dreading the judges’ wrath. And with good reason as he deserved each lash. He staggered out of the room and collapsed on the floor. Was it fear? Or was it just a total lack of any semblance of talent? Manic Andre, aka “X-Ray,” looked and sounded like a seal high on meth. But 16 year old Arianna Afsar easily won over the judges with her blues singing. Not only does she have talent, but she is a community activist who founded a program matching up lonely nursing home residents with an out-going teen for visits and companionship. Retail cashier Elijah has a voice
deep enough to rumble the Bubbly Lea Marie has written over 100 original songs. Unfortunately, she just can’t sing and even her begging to “be the best ever” was to no avail. Quiet Stevie Wright
has a full voice
with great possibility. She is only 16 and heading to You certainly cannot judge a book

the top 5 most dangerous jobs to support his wife and family, his voice won him
a ticket to Walking in black 4-inch high heels while wearing a revealing bikini, Katrina Darrell earned a ticket to Hollywood. But put some clothes on her and her voice is just average at best. She is a perfect example of self-promotion. Self proclaimed (perhaps “deluded” is more appropriate) “Sexual Chocolate” Eric’s singing didn’t arose any feelings other than “is he done, yet?” A combination of personality and talent won Brianna her golden ticket. You know how some people are just born with talent? Well, that is the case for Deanna Brown. Her natural singing ability, confident poise and stage presentation were all there for the judges to make the only possible decision. That is, a golden ticket to Hollywood. I think she will be one to watch as the season unfolds. Insecure Alex
Wagner Trugman told us that he was
a self-taught singer who sang in a moldy closet that caused him health problems.
Why the closet? He didn’t tell us. But, he was able to overcome that illness
and earned a Tonight’s final contestant was Scott MacIntyre. He graduated from college at age 19, is a classically trained pianist, ballroom dancer, and a singer songwriter. He was born blind and has only 1 degree of vision. In other words, he can only see the width of a single piano key. This self-motivated and risk taker deservedly earned his gold Hollywood ticket. And that concluded this first show of the new American Idol season. Return here tomorrow night and read my recap that is written just for you.
